Mr. Ranjeev Menon has been GWC’s Group CEO since 2009, leading the company into becoming one of the fastest growing companies in the MENA region. Under his leadership, the company has grown its logistics infrastructure to nearly 2 million square meters, offering every supply chain solution across more than a dozen facilities and logistics hubs. Mr. Menon holds a Master's of Business in Supply Chain / Logistics Management from RMIT University of Melbourne, Australia. He has over 25 years’ experience behind him, and ignited his career with such esteemed companies as MESCO, DHL, and Agility in the UAE and Qatar.
Mr. Govindan first served as the Chief Financial Officer of GWC since 2008, and rose to serve as Executive Director of Finance and Shared Services in 2015, and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2018. He is a qualified Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, Kolkata and has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mahatma Ghandi University, Kerala. His experience in the field of accountancy and finance span for nearly 20 years. Before joining GWC he worked for Vodafone Essar, Reliance Communications Ltd., Escotel Mobile Communications Ltd., Shriram Investments Ltd. and Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd, among others. His strong acumen in financial analysis, budgeting, MIS, accounts, revenue assurance, fund management and team management has been instrumental in helping GWC’s growth since joining.
Mr. Abayomi joined GWC in 2008, and is now the Chief Audit Executive directing the Internal Audit & Compliance department in the company. He is a qualified accountant (FCMA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with a Masters in Accounting. He joined the company with more than two decades of rich experience in the field of internal audit and financial reporting systems and procedures, working for firms such as Abuja Sheraton and Qatar National Hotels Company (QNHC).
Mr. Matthew Phelps joined the company in 2017 as General Manager of GWC. He holds a BSc (Hons) Transport Management and Planning from Loughborough University UK, and has thirty-five years of experience in a variety of industries, including automotive manufacture, logistics and supply chain. He has held senior management positions in Ford Motor Company, Wincanton, Deutsch Post (DHL) and ISS. He has significant international and multi-cultural experience, particularly in Europe, North America, Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Nawaf joined the company in 2011, and has held many positions until rising to Executive Director of Government Relations in 2015. His focus is the development of business and relations with various government entities, and is responsible for enhancing the relationships between government organizations and authorities and existing departments of the company.
Wilfried Hugebaert joined GWC in 2017 as Executive Director of Operations, and is now Executive Director of Strategy and Growth. He holds an MBA (logistics and supply chain) from Leicester University (UK), a Masters of International Business from ESC (France), and a Masters of International Trade from Evry University (France), in addition to other professional degrees and certifications. Wilfried has more than twenty years of experience in the Middle East and Africa in freight forwarding and express courier, including 18 years in leadership positions in operations, sales, and country management. Wilfried has a good background in sales growth and company transformation.
Mr. Nassar joined the company in 2005 with close to 33 years of experience, and is now the Senior Director of Commercial Services at GWC. Mr. Nassar has gained a deep familiarity with the Oil and Gas industry, having handled major projects such as Shell GTL, Ashghal, Lusail, and RasGas. Internally, Mr. Nassar has worked diligently to develop the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment practices and policies to the highest industry standards.
Mr. George has been with GWC since 2003 and currently serves as the Senior Director of Freight Forwarding, and has been key in growing the company’s freight operations into a growth driver for GWC. He has earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in public administration, and joined GWC with 15 years of experience in the forwarding industry, working with organizations such as The Orient Express Lines and Freight Systems Ltd. In Dubai; Al Jazeera Simatech Shipping in Qatar; and Samsung Corporation in Qatar.
Mr. Kambrath joined the company in 2004, and is now the Senior Director of Contract Logistics and Records Management in GWC. He holds a bachelor degree in academic and legislative law, and has graduated from the INSEAD Leadership Program for Senior Executives (ILPSE) from INSEAD Business School- Paris, and has two decades of rich expertise in the fields of third and fourth party logistics, business process engineering, and in supply chain management.
Mr. Khatchikian joined the company in 2007, and is now the Senior Director of Transport at GWC, with thirteen years of experience earned before joining the company. He has been highly effective in the meticulous management of the Transport division, achieving high levels of efficiency, economy and safety in operations.
Mr. Maaz has been with GWC since 2015 and currently serves as the Director of Business Transformation at GWC. He has played a key role in GWC repositioning the UPS brand in the country after becoming the authorized service contractor in 2015, and steadily growing the market share in the Express segment. He has nearly 2 decades of experience in the airlines/cargo industries, working with organizations like Air India, Ethiopian Airlines, Jet Airways, and FedEx. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Bangalore University, a Masters in Cargo and Courier Management from Trade Wings Institute of Management, and a diploma in Leadership Skills for Top Management from the Indian School of Business and other specializations.
Mr. Capp joined the company in 2017 as Director of Fine Art in GWC. He holds a bachelor degree in in Tourism Management at South Bank University in London, and has 17 years of experience in the fine art industry working with Constantine Limited, in addition to 4 years with Japan Airlines, which he has put to use developing the fine art industry standards for GWC in Qatar.
Mr. Maged Emil Kamal joined the company in 2007, rising in the ranks of the corporate information technology division to reach the position of Senior Director of information technology, with over 16 years of experience in the field. Mr. Maged provides leadership for the continued development of an innovative, customer-oriented, reliable, and secure information technology environment for GWC. He has a bachelor’s degree and a pre-master’s diploma in computer science, and is certified in: ITIL v3 – IT Service Management; ISO 27001 Lead Implementer – Information Security Management System; CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker; EMC Proven Professional: Backup and Recovery; CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional; VMware Certified Associate: Data Center Virtualization; Certified Packet Shaper Administrator; Microsoft Certified Application Developer.
Mr. Mohammed Al-Sahlawi is the Head of Public Relations and has been working with GWC since Feb 2011. His work has been instrumental in developing awareness of the GWC brand, its service offerings, and its facilities within the State of Qatar and beyond.
Ms. Tia Prang is the Senior Director of Human Resources with Gulf Warehousing Company since 2015. Under her leadership, the Human Resource division has become a strategic business partner to the company, highlighting the skills and capabilities of employees by utilizing a technology driven environment. She has over 25 years of HR experience in the United States and Qatar, working in a variety of industries including financial services, automotive, oil and gas and aviation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas (USA); a double Master’s degree in MBA and Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix (USA); is Chartered MCIPD certified from Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; is SAP HCM Certified, and has completed the Human Resource Strategy in Transforming Organizations Programme at London Business School.
Mr. Hamdan Abdulla Merchant joined the company as the director of business process development in 2015. He has worked to imbed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company, emphasizing the values of Lean Kaizen, with the aim of empowering employees and facilitating their work through improved processes, thereby adding value to the services provided to clients. He has eleven years of experience working with various industries such as retail, manufacturing, distribution, and warehousing. He earned his Master’s of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt – Lean Sensei.
